Our beginner’s Italian evening course will help you learn key language skills to make your holiday even more enjoyable. Feel confident ordering food, navigating local streets, and connecting with native speakers.

Overview

This course, which runs for 10 weeks from 8 May 2025, is ideal for beginners or those with limited Italian knowledge.

Taught by experienced and qualified tutors, you’ll practise useful phrases, improve your pronunciation, and gain cultural insights to help you feel at ease when travelling. Whether you’re visiting Italy for sightseeing, shopping, or dining, this course will prepare you to engage with locals and make the most of your trip.

In the 10-week course, we will cover broad topics, such as:

  • Basic greetings and pleasantries
  • Introduce yourself and other people
  • Order food and drinks
  • Give and understand basic directions
  • Numbers, prices, and asking for cost
  • Express likes and dislikes
  • Survival expressions and questions

At the end of the course, you will leave with new skills and confidence to navigate your holiday in Italy and a certificate of participation to mark your achievement. This course is open to community members, staff, and students at Edge Hill University. Staff and students will receive a discount. If we do not meet the required number of participants, we reserve the right to withdraw this course.

  • £190 for community members
  • £170 for Edge Hill University staff
  • £100 for Edgehill University students
