Calling all students of Edge Hill University: any course, any year and wherever you are in the world.

Send us a short film about what you are doing in isolation and earn yourself £50 (one film per student).

Read on to see how you can get involved.

What you need to do

We want to see how you’re filling your day whilst in lockdown during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Have you found a new hobby? What are you doing to keep active? How are you using your time?

Make a short film (min. 30 seconds – max. 2 minutes) showing us what you are up to; whether that’s planting seeds, playing the piano, doing exercise – we’d love to see it. You can use any device to make your film and there are no limits on creativity – the film can be one take or edited and please include your name at the end of the film.

Feel free to use animation, stills, typography – whatever you like, but please don’t include any copyright material, e.g. music, photos. You must also get permission to share your work from anyone else who appears in your film.

Uploading your film

Save your finished film in mp4 or mov format. Use ‘We Transfer’, to send the file to ICE@edgehill.ac.uk – in the ‘message’ space, include your full name, student number and Edge Hill email address

Deadline: films need to be uploaded by 12 midday on Friday 3rd April 2020 (Submissions after this date may still be considered for use at a later date).

Earning your money

Students who make a film fulfilling this brief will receive £50. You will be emailed a student expense form, which you will need to complete and return to ICE@edgehill.ac.uk

How your film will be used

Films will be used to create a mosaic documenting the lives of Edge Hill students during isolation. By submitting your short film, you are agreeing to us sharing your work on the internet and through social media channels. Please note, this project is in partnership with Liverpool Screenlife and Culture Liverpool who may also use this material.
