The Faculty of Health and Social Care performed strongly in the national Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, with 55% of submitted health research identified as internationally excellent or world leading.

 The Carers’ Alert Thermometer (CAT)

Carers' Alert ThermometerFunded by the NIHR and published as part of a themed review of NIHR research on end of life care service ‘Better Ending Right care, right place, right time (December 2015), the development of the Carers’ Alert Thermometer (CAT) was led by a team from Edge Hill University.  The CAT is an alert to identify and support the needs of unpaid carers providing end of life care at home.  To visit the CAT website click here

The Patient Concerns Inventory (PCI)

The Patients Concerns Inventory (PCI) is working towards modernising healthcare and improving the patient experience both in the UK and abroad.  The PCI helps patients highlight their concerns and needs for discussion in their clinical interactions / consultations, and has been used by 3,000 patients in the UK.  It has also been implemented in America, Canada, Brazil, Finland and Malaysia.
