Obtaining and Using the PCI

The PCI has been developed by Edge Hill University and Aintree University Hospitals NHS Trust. As such the Intellectual Property lies with these organisations. However, the PCI is a free resource which is available for anyone to use.

PCI Head and Neck Cancer

The PCI-Head and Neck cancer (PCI – H & N) was the first PCI to be developed and is already widely used. The PCI-H &N is available in PDF format and can be obtained by emailing PatientCI@edgehill.ac.uk. An IPAD computer application for the PCI-H & N is also available. Also available are a Patient information sheet and guidance as to how to use the PCI in clinical practice.

The PCI-H&N is available in the following languages:

  • Portuguese
  • Chinese
  • Mandarin
  • Urdu
  • Serbian
  • German
  • Spanish

What PCI are currently available or under development?

Although the PCI was originally developed for Head and Neck cancer, PCIs for other conditions have/are subsequently been developed. These include:

  • PCI-neuro-oncology
  • PCI-breast cancer
  • PCI-Rheumatology
  • PCI- Acoustic Neuroma

A number of PCIs for other conditions are currently under development. These include: PCI-elderly medicine, PCI-stroke, PCI burns.
