Over 80 delegates gathered in the Faculty of Health and Social Care to celebrate the achievements and work of our PhD and MRes students at the third annual Post Graduate Research Student Symposium. An engaged audience listened to short presentations and viewed creative posters showcasing the interesting work being undertaken by our PhD and MRes students. The delegates found that the day “really captured the breadth of exciting and high quality work being undertaken by the postgraduate research students”.

The winners of the peer reviewed prizes were; best PhD oral presentation (Emma Swift, 2nd year GTA), best PhD poster presentation (Holly Saron, 1st year GTA) and best MRes poster and short oral presentation (Helen Brewah, 3rd year MRes student).

The day was closed with an animation created collaboratively between the PhD students and the Faculty PGR Tutor Lucy Bray on ‘what is it like to do a PhD’!
