Pollution can have devastating consequences for nature and people. A recent study by Dan Knight (Geography Department, EHU) indicates that significant pollution can be found in relatively remote locations in Britain. Dan was recently granted the award of MRes for the programme of research entitled:

‘The influence of topography on pollution deposition in Snowdonia National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park’

Dan is currently completing a PhD at the Geography Department using remote sensing technologies to conduct land cover classifications. Further information about his current studies can be found here. Congratulations to Dan for his MRes title!
