Tuition Fees

How much are my tuition fees?

I have a query about my tuition fees / I have a problem paying them

If you have any queries with regards to tuition fees, student funding or you are experiencing difficulty with paying your fees please speak with the Fees, Scholarships Bursaries Team. Where possible the University will work with you to agree payment arrangements

I would like to withdraw from my course, how much of my tuition fee am I still liable to pay?

If you are unsure as to the suitability of your course, or are thinking of leaving Edge Hill University please contact your Personal Tutor or your Programme Contact in Academic Registry to discuss your options. If you decide that you wish to withdraw or intercalate, the amount of tuition fee you will be liable to pay will depend upon the date you withdraw.

If you do decide to withdraw

You must:

  • Obtain a Withdrawal form and Notes for Guidance from Academic Registry or from the Academic Registry wiki website
  • Notify your Department of your intention to withdraw and collect signatures from relevant Tutors.
  • Return all borrowed items (e.g. materials from the Learning Resource Centre)
  • If you are resident in Halls, liaise with the Accommodation Office in Student Services
  • Please pay any outstanding monies online
  • Return your keys to Security
  • Return your Unicard to Academic Registry

Academic Registry will notify Student Finance regarding your withdrawal and your last date of attendance and will also update the University Student Record System accordingly.
If you have applied for a student loan, we recommend that you also notify Student Finance of your withdrawal.

Who do I contact if I have questions about Accommodation Payments?

For any questions regarding payments for accommodation, or if you wish to edit payments, please contact the Hall Fees Team.

Can my parents top up my Unicard on Upay?

Once you have set up your Upay account anyone can top up your account using the Guest Pay feature. This allows parents or non-registered users to top up a registered users cashless account. Some essential information is required:

  • Username i.e. email address of the person you wish to top up
  • User ID/Card ID of the person you wish to top up

These details may be obtained by asking the Upay user to go to ‘my details’ in their Upay account and to send the Username and User ID to the non-registered user.

I have ordered a Replacement Unicard – where can I collect it?

You can order your replacement Unicard through our Online Store. Once you have made a purchase please print your online store receipt and bring it to the FMHelpdesk in the Durning Centre during the following times: Monday-Friday 08.00 – 18.00. More information can be found on the Facilities Management webpage.

Where can I make payments for a DBS check?

If you have received information from the Admissions office regarding completing your DBS application*, you can make a payment through the University Online Store. Please ensure you follow the instructions carefully as any mistakes may cause your clearance to be delayed. Please note: you are not required to contact the Admissions team once payment has been made, notification of this will be sent automatically. For more information please visit

*Your offer conditions will clearly state whether or not you require a DBS Enhanced Disclosure for entry onto your programme of study.

Where can I buy University Merchandise and clothing?

The Students’ Union has an online store with a great range of Edge Hill branded merchandise and gifts from graduation bears to onesies and pens, plus much more. How do I purchase an Edge Hill Sport Membership online?

Do you have an Online Store?

Yes! At Edge Hill University we now have two Online Stores, our University Online Store and our Enterprises Online Store. The Online Stores provides a convenient method of payment for products, services and events within Edge Hill via a secure online payment system. How do I make a donation to the University?

Donations to the Alumni Fund support two initiatives designed to make a real impact and lasting difference to students’ lives and help them fulfil their potential at Edge Hill. The Alumni Excellence Scholarship helps to nurture budding leaders in sport, performing arts, the creative industries and the voluntary sector. It allows them to continue doing the things they love and excel at, without compromising their studies.

The Student Support Fund provides emergency assistance to students in severe financial difficulties. It can make the difference between a student continuing their education or being forced to drop out due to their circumstances. Without the generous support of our alumni, many of these students would never make it to graduation.

A small gift can make a big difference.
