After a period of restoration and refurbishment, Edge Hill University has launched its on-campus sculpture trail for its 125th anniversary year. Visitors can pick up a map and follow the trail around the sculpture park that contains 12 items, including the Goat by Tony Evans, the specially-commissioned sculpture situated outside of the Business and Law School, to mark the University’s milestone birthday.
Some of the items include:
- Unity – Andy Shaw 2008. Galvanised and painted steel and commissioned specifically for the University grounds;
- Tightrope Walker – Paul Bearman, date unknown. Made of wielded steel, arrived on campus mid 1990s
- Farrowing Sow – Ted Roocroft 1978. Carved from an elm log in 1978 and exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1979 and later at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Arrived on campus in 1989.
The sculpture trail opens from 13th May 2010.
