Black History Month-Uprisings 1981: A Commemoration

In April 1981 Brixton exploded in anger and that anger swept across UK inner cities in the summer of 1981. Liverpool 8 witnessed the longest and most costly of these uprisings. Join us for an afternoon of discussion, performance and photography reflecting on the events of 1981 in this 40th anniversary year. With national activists, artists and commentors we will remember the uprisings and consider their legacies and lessons for a new generation of Black Lives Matter and other anti-racist activists today.
