Black History Month- International Perspectives: The role of arts, and art therapies on the issue of diversity and mental health

This is the first event of the Black History Month, Dance and Wellbeing series. This event explores some of the key issues relating to arts, art therapies and psychotherapies in relation to diversity and mental health awareness. The event will be facilitated by Dr Nisha Sajnani, who is the Director of the Drama Therapy program at New York University.

Edge Hill’s International Centre on Racism will be screening the UK Premiere of Wilmington on Fire, a new and deeply impactful film about Black history. Following the film there will be a live Q&A with the director via video link so students and staff can learn why the events in Wilmington are so important and how he created the film.
