Description: This session is designed to support practitioners working in the Early Years with understanding how children develop fundamental movement skills i.e. run, jump, throw. It offers an opportunity to explore the stages of development for 5 key FMS for children in the foundation stage.

This is partly practical, and delegates should be dressed appropriately.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. To develop an understanding of the developmental stages of 5 key fundamental movement skills (FMS) for under 5’s.
  2. To develop observation skills of FMS.
  3. To explore strategies to help the children improve their fundamental movement skills.
