These live evening sessions for students will run Monday to Thursday, focusing on relevant topics each month in line with the research and application timeline.
Monday 4pm – 5pm: Introduction to Higher Education
This session will examine the benefits of progressing onto Higher Education (HE), discuss the pros and cons of moving away or living at home for university, provide advise on how to choose a university and course that’s best for you, and explore the support and additional opportunities available at university.
Tuesday 4pm – 5pm: Student Life in the North West
This presentation give prospective students the chance of finding out about what it would be like to move away for University and to North West England. It covers the best local places to see and do things in Ormskirk, Liverpool and Manchester, including restaurants, activities and nightlife. Plus some top tips from us!
Wednesday 4pm – 5pm: Student Finance
This session will explain the different between a Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan, how to apply for such loans through Student Finance, and how to repay your loan once you graduate. It will also cover the additional financial support available e.g. scholarships.
Thursday 4pm – 5pm: Submitted your UCAS application – what next?
This session examines what happens when your submit your UCAS application, advice on how to consider and answer your offers, the transition to university study as well as some finance and budgeting aspects. The session also looks at accommodation processes and what to expect in your first week, including some excellent top tips!
All sessions will run through Blackboard Collaborate.
