Edge Hill builds up a great learning environment for students. My supervisors, tutors, and staff members are caring. The international office arranges many activities for international students to make more connections with others and feel belonging. There are also various learning opportunities, for example, free language classes, and high-quality and free arts performances. I feel like being surrounded by rich learning resources and nurturing relationships which help me grow.

  • One of the best things about Edge Hill University

As a PhD student can be an isolated experience because each student focuses on his/her own research project. Fortunately, I have the best supervisory team. My supervisor respects for my original idea of the research project, and always gives me encouragement. She has always been there along with my PhD journey. She responds to me quickly as well as reads my writing carefully and offer lots of valuable feedbacks. I am grateful to study a PhD degree with such supportive supervisory team in Edge Hill University.

  • Your experience at EHU

I had a wonderful time living in university accommodation during the first year of the PhD programme. The campus is very lovely with lots of green. I feel like that I can immerse myself with the beauty of nature. It helps me relax especially after long-time staring on computer screen. The facilities on campus are just amazing. I enjoy working in the catalyst/library with dual screens. I join membership of the Sports Centre with very low costs, and go swimming, using sauna, gym, play badminton and attend yoga classes all the time.

  • Your advice for prospective students

Enjoy the campus and don’t be shy to reach out for help. The staff members in EHU are friendly and would deal with problems in a sensitive manner.

  • Why you chose EHU

I chose EHU because there are the experts in the Uni that are related to my research area as well as recommendations from a friend.

  • Your favourite part about the course

Learning new knowledge and research evidence in my interested subject is my passion of the course. Also, the training for becoming an independent thinker is very tough but rewarding. I appreciate my progression about how to synthesis lots of information in literature and express them well in writing.
