We would like to invite you to the launch of the Edge Hill Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics. We are a multi-disciplinary unit within the University, working together to enhance teaching and research about the way in which ethics plays an increasingly important role in healthcare practice.
We do this through a shared commitment and appreciation of the role of bioethics within the provision of healthcare.
The Unit aims to promote the understanding and contribution of bioethics through collaboration that draws from the diverse expertise within the University.
We aim to enhance and innovate teaching and research experience for colleagues, students and the wider community. A crucial aspect is our ongoing commitment to establish relationships with other international UNESCO Bioethics Units, building on and developing new partnerships with Edge Hill University.
Our membership team includes colleagues within the University, legal practitioners and clinicians with a range of expertise in bioethics across the UK.
In collaboration with UNESCO, we are committed to ensure all our students receive the highest level of educational engagement and further opportunities to explore the ethical nature of their practice. To achieve this, we will be presenting the three themes of research and activity we are focusing on: ‘bioethics education’, ‘bioethics in professional practice’ and ‘contemporary bioethics in healthcare delivery’. We gladly welcome all opportunities to work together to support the provision of healthcare through education and development of professional practice.
