The FoHSC Inaugural Athena Swan address will be delivered by Chris Jones, formerly of Edge Hill University. In The Sex War: working behind enemy lines, Chris will discuss the conjoined personal, institutional and political elements of the experience of being a male nurse. His address will cover caring skills as gender neutral, and, given that men constitute only 11%  of nurses, the need to encourage more men to enter the nursing and caring professions. This discussion has resonances beyond the health professions and parallels can be drawn with Primary School teaching.

The 45-minute talk will be followed by a 15 – 20 minute Q&A.
