In a world of fake news and alternative facts, where a reality TV star can become the most powerful man in the world, it is timely to enter the Library of Imaginary Books…

Pornography
By Simon Stephens
Tuesday 12th December 7:30pm
Wednesday 13th December 7:30pm

Sartre defines obscenity as the inertia of the flesh. Here nameless characters offer a kaleidoscopic London that moved in a few days from the Olympics announcement to the horror of terrorist bombing. Inspired by the events of 7/7, Pornography offers, through seven different seemingly unrelated stories, a complex paean to the human. “Stephens observes his characters with an almost forensic detachment and yet he makes us love them too….This is a play of grace and terror.”  The Guardian. “Thrilling, compelling and visceral, Pornography is a superb depiction of a city on fire and under attack” The Stage.
