Resonant Edge Closing Party
FREE (see below)
This event will take place in the Red Bar
“Patchwork Rattlebag has the kind of juxtaposition that Anthony H. Wilson surely would have loved.”
The collective perform an eclectic, ‘patchworked’ set. Instruments, glitch, poetry, sound design and elements of song-based popular music blend with one another as we move from live electroacoustic performance, through ambience and arrive at psychedelic electronica.
Jan Titlbach and JJ Lyon are a duo that combine live acoustic drum kit with electronic sounds and guitars. They explore the relationship between drumming, sound design and melodies, creating a sound that crosses the genres of progressive rock, Electronic Dance Music and pop.
George Meikle – A composer, producer and performer of electronic music for a number of years, George’s stylistic influences are varied. Preferring to perform live as opposed to mixing other people’s music, George views DJing as an opportunity to create unique live sets, an activity parallel to composition.
Nessa Johnstone – As well as lecturing in Media, Film and Television at Edge Hill University, Nessa was a founding DJ at Dublin’s Neuromantek electro night, and is a regular DJ at the micro-festival Groovefest. Tonight’s set will have a distinctly hauntological theme, mixing the very strangest electronica, ambient, glitch and electro.
The Closing Party is FREE. Please book online or via the Box Office so we have an indication of numbers for catering purposes. (Please note that no tickets will be issued).
