The legendary Roberto Fabbriciani – avant-garde flautist and collaborator with such figures as Luigi Nono, John Cage, Salvatore Sciarrino, Luciano Berio, Brian Ferneyhough and even Ennio Morricone – will be in conversation with Stephen Davismoon reflecting upon his fascinating career.
Roberto Fabbriciani, flutist and composer, was born in Arezzo, Italy. An original interpreter and versatile artist, Roberto is an innovator of flute technique, multiplying through personal research the instrument’s sonorous possibilities. He has collaborated with some of the major composers of our time – Luciano Berio, John Cage, György Kurtág, György Ligeti, Luigi Nono, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Toru Takemitsu – many of whom have dedicated important works for Roberto to premiere. He has performed as a soloist with many renowned conductors and orchestras, performed concerts at prestigious theaters, frequently participated in festivals and recorded several albums.
