Just for Edge Hill students, this year’s Welcome Week includes some great free film screenings and an evening of hilarious stand-up comedy. Full details are provided below!

Deadpool

In a special Tuesday edition of our weekly Free Film Friday events we are screening Deadpool in the Studio Theatre. No tickets are needed, just turn up and entrance is FREE!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who, after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

In a special Wednesday edition of our weekly Free Film Friday events we are screening Bad Neighbours 2 in the Studio Theatre. No tickets are needed, just turn up and entrance is FREE!

Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly (Rose Byrne) are ready to make the final move into adulthood. But just as they thought they have reclaimed the neighborhood, they learn that their new neighbors are even more out of control than the last. To evict them, they will need help from their ex neighbor (Zac Efron).

The Arts Centre is collaborating with Edge Hill Students’ Union for their first every comedy club!
We have Jamie Sutherland topping the bill on the 22nd of September!

“Liverpool has a history for producing some of the country’s finest comedy talent, and Jamie Sutherland can now be added to that fine list! Since launching himself into the comedy world Jamie has established himself on the comedy circuit and is resident at two clubs, Global Comedy and the Brinsop Comedy Club. He is a headline act on the comedy circuit, working for the finest clubs including Sheffield Last Laugh, Jongleurs, Comedy Central, and Buzz Comedy. Jamie is a modern act, with many observational topics, but throws in a few old-style gags too.”

Steve Day, Ben Lawes and Nina Gilligan are also on the bill.
