What is an Operating Department Practitioner?
Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) are important members of the perioperative team. They work in an exciting and dynamic environment, providing care during the anaesthetic, surgical and recovery phases of a patient’s hospital treatment. The role requires practitioners to have in-depth knowledge and skills in areas such as anatomy and physiology, illness and disease, surgical and anaesthetic procedures, legal and ethical issues, and teamwork.
The BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice is a three-year degree programme where you will spend 60% of your time working and learning within local hospital operating theatres.
Please note this event is not suitable for those who may already have applied in the 2016 UCAS recruitment cycle.
