An opportunity for women in business and local businesses to discover more about Edge Hill University and Business and Professional Women UK

The event in hosted in partnership with Business and Professional Women UK, which exists to support and develop women and girls in education, training and business and throughout their careers.

There will be opportunities to discover more about accessing Edge Hill projects, consultancy and knowledge exchange.



Helen Woodruffe-Burton, Director, Edge Hill Business School

Helen is a Chartered Marketer and elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, her academic career spans twenty years in HE prior to which she worked in sales and marketing within the computing and financial services sectors.

Helen will give an introduction to marketing, looking specifically at personal branding.


Lyn Evesham, Board Member and former president, British and Professional Women UK

Lynn will be speaking about the work of BPW and about her own experiences in establishing and developing Lifeline Language Services, a translation company based in \Preston but operating across Europe.

Kirsty Devlin

Kirsty Devlin – Managing Director – Social Cinnamon

A graduate of Edge Hill Business School, Kirsty started her entrepreneurial journey in Primary School selling gel pens and even had her own car washing business at 15! Though it didn’t stop there, a failed urban clothing company called Homegrown and a business and management degree later; Kirsty started her latest business, Social Cinnamon, a Social Media Agency in September 2015. After helping develop Rise, the Tech incubator in Deansgate, Manchester.

The evening will include a performance from Edge Hill’s all female undergraduate dance troupe, 3rd Edge, who will perform a celebration of women through dance theatre.

Local restaurant the Town Green Brasserie, operated by the Seafood Pub Company, have donated a dinner for two prize which will be raffled on the night
