Reducing In-Work Poverty: The Living Wage Campaign in the UK

The Living Wage Campaign was launched by members of London Citizens, part of the Citizens UK network in 2001. In recent years the campaign has grown in prominence across the UK with over a thousand organisations now accredited as Living Wage employers. According to the Living Wage Foundation the campaign has won over £210 million of additional wages, lifting over 40,000 families out of working poverty.

I4P are hosting this event looking at the issue of in-work poverty, the benefits of a Living Wage and how the Living Wage campaign can be supported and promoted in West Lancashire and across the North West region. The evening will include:

  •  A presentation by Caroline Reilly from the Living Wage Foundation
  • Information about Living Wage accreditation
  • Testimonies from accredited Living Wage employers in Lancashire
  • Discussion about how the Living Wage can be promoted in West Lancashire and across the North West

  • 5.15pm – Registration and Refreshments
  • 5.30pm – Event start

Venue: B002, Business and Law Building
