Meeting the Informational Needs of Older People and their Carers in Health and Social Care Settings – Professor Tim Kelly, Professor of Social Work and Associate Dean of Research, University of Dundee
One of a series of evening lectures on social work; the lectures are free of charge to attend and open to all interested in the areas of social work, social care and the social sciences.
Since moving to Scotland from the United States in 2003, Tim has continued his research into and writing about the care of older people in health and social care settings, supporting carers and group work practice. Improving professional social work education has also featured in his work and his academic experience includes teaching, research, and administration in Scotland and in the United States.
Tim has been the Secretary and Vice-President of the Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups and is currently a member of the editorial board of the journal Groupwork.
His practice experience includes working in older people’s services in community mental health, community health, court ordered substance abuse treatment, and a geriatric hospital.
