A FREE aerial show performance to enchant and amaze at the Ormskirk Campus
Edge Hill University is delighted to welcome international aerial show company The Dream Engine to perform the magical Heliosphere on campus, as the centrepiece of a spectacular autumn event to celebrate the University’s presence in Ormskirk for 80 years.
Using music, lighting and location, the Heliosphere creates the illusion of flying, creating an extraordinary aerobatic show over the heads of the audience. Spiralling, spinning and seemingly weightless, at night it becomes a giant colour-changing lantern, as an acrobat suspended beneath a helium balloon explores the uncharted space between street level and rooftops. On a calm evening the aerial dancer can fly out of the sky, swoop from just overhead to twenty metres in a moment, carrying someone’s hat.
Heliosphere will be accompanied by a variety of street performances and acts including an appearance by the University’s award-winning all male dance troupe Edge FWD performing their show Wingman. Complimentary food and drinks will be available subject to availability.
- 5.00pm – Familiy activities and entertainment, with complimentary food and drinks
- 6.30pm – Edge Hill University’s award-winning all male dance troupe Edge FWD
- 7.00pm – Heliosphere by The Dream Engine
Parking is limited on campus so it is advisable to use public transport where possible. A FREE shuttle bus runs three times an hour between Ormskirk bus station and the University’s campus until 9pm.
