We are holding an open afternoon for anyone interested in our BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice degree at Armstrong House site in Manchester (just off Oxford Road) on 5th November 2012. Drop in at any time between 2pm and 6pm for the chance to chat to tutors, view the clinical skills centre and recieve advice on applying and course entry requirements.
What is an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)?
ODPs provide high standards of patient care and skilled support alongside medical and nursing colleagues during surgery. They work with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre nurses to help ensure every operation is as safe and effective as possible.
The BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice degree is a three-year programme where you will spend 60% of your time working and learning within local hospital operating theatres. The programme is offered at both the University’s Ormskirk and Manchester sites with start dates available in April 2013 and September 2013. Clinical placements are available in Merseyside, Greater Manchester and East Cheshire, and we will endeavour, where possible, to place you in a Trust near to where you live.
No tuition fees are charged for this programme – it is NHS-funded and students receive a means-tested bursary.
