The General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing, Peter Carter, will be visiting the University to deliver a key note address on nursing in the 21st century.
This Faculty of Health and Social Care conference will focus on improving outcomes for patients from a quality and safety perspective.
Other speakers will include, Gill Hurst, the Interim Chief Nurse for the North of England, who will talk on Energising for Excellence, and Diane Wake, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Nurse at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust will talk about ensuring patient safety in acute settings.
Several other NHS trust executive nurses will also present on improving patient safety. Ray Walker, the Director of Nursing at Mersey Care NHS Trust will discuss patient safety in secure mental health settings. Gail Naylor, the Executive Nurse at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust will outline the quality journey at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
Edge Hill University’s 3rd year students will also share a student survival guide.
The conference is free to attend and staff and students from across the University are invited to attend as well as colleagues from the health and social care sector.
