Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Football Players: An Analysis of the Case Law – Stuart Ripley, Solicitor, Brabners Chaffe Street, Manchester
The Department of Law and Criminology would like to invite all of its Law graduates to the next Law Alumni Association meeting at the Ormskirk campus. The event will provide the opportunity for you to network with your fellow Law graduates, department staff and professional members of our Law Advisory panel.
Stuart Ripley joined Brabners Chaffe Street in 2008, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2010. Prior to his legal career Stuart was a professional footballer, who enjoyed a long career playing for Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers and Southampton. He was capped by England and won the Premier League during his time with Blackburn. He now specialises in Sports Law with a particular emphasis on football, advising professional clubs, players and agents on a variety of sporting issues including disciplinary, regulatory and contractual matters such as loans, transfers and playing contracts.
Stuart has undertaken work on a variety of disputes before The Football Association, the Premier League, the Football League, FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber and the Court of Arbitration for Sport and has experience in advising clients on immigration related queries including visa and work permit requirements. He is a member of the FA’s Judicial Panel hearing cases relating to matters such as doping, safeguarding, agent activity and discrimination.
