Hollywood actor and Edge Hill star alumnus Jonathan Pryce returned to campus for two special events with drama students and hosted an audience in a questions and answer session.
The former Edge Hill student appraised students’ performances in a practical session, providing stage acting tips and sharing his experiences of working with famous playwright Harold Pinter.
Following his work with students, he held a questions and answer session in front of a packed audience, retelling tales from his early days in Liverpool’s Everyman Theatre as well as his glittering Hollywood career on the stage and screen.
Jonathan studied at the former Edge Hill College on a teacher training course in the 1970s, before receiving a prestigious scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He then joined the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and became Artistic Director, before hitting the big time in London stage productions such as Hamlet and The Taming of the Shrew. In film, he’s worked alongside cinematic icons such as Robert De Niro and Al Pacino and recently starred in Tomorrow Never Dies, Evita and all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
