Coco Before Chanel (Anne Fontaine, 2009) will be screened on Thursday 25th February 2010 at 7:30pm in the Studio Theatre. The film is a 12A certificate.
Audrey Tautou shines as the legendary Coco Chanel in this fascinating tale that charts her life. From her miserable beginnings in an orphanage, we see her, slowly but surely, clawing her way up in society, using her charm and wit, but most of all, her outspokenness, always telling what she thinks. This film is not just a story about Coco’s success; it’s also about her struggle to fit in with a society that differed so much from her own opinions, and about her losses and heartaches.
