Touchdown Dance present Closer.

Tickets £8.50 / £6.50 concessions.

Using senses other than eyes, six dancers take flight aiming to bring the separate closer. Liberated from taboos of touch, they share a world where contact is not cautioned, but the starting point of freedom and trust. Touchdown combines voice, video, live music and a wide range of dance styles to create imaginative and contemporary theatrical experiences.

Three sighted dancers and three visually impaired dancers from a variety of dance and performance backgrounds, use touch as an alternative for sight, as the main form of communication within the ensemble. This unique creative relationship utilises a technique known as contact improvisation, which along with vocal and sound cues, serves to liberate visually impaired dancers.
