The C18th is happily exploding, sometimes very messily, with Cake, Coffee and Commerce. London smugly calls itself the centre of the world, when Carrie Lyndon is commissioned to write a play for the Duke of Gloucester. Her journey from town to country is overshadowed as the powers of central government try to seize control. It soon bites back: riots, sit-ins and boycotts abound. The countryside is in uproar, and the stage is set for a countrywide confrontation between city wiles and country guile.  Does anyone really care if the show goes on or not, and if so why?

This is a show for all the family in the true tradition of Old Spot Theatre. Full of laughter, scheming scoundrels, artistic hubris, serious and salacious satire and of course, as always, happy endings.
