Darwin’s Worms is a highly theatrical & entertaining celebration of Charles Darwin’s legacy and his deep (entirely understandable!) love for these modest unassuming little creatures that lurk beneath our feet!  They are finally given the credit they deserve and in some cases will be making their first appearance on the UK stage in this frankly splendid combination of accessible scienceand compelling drama.

Through the form of a distinctly surreal and twisted science lecture demonstration, a team of crack scientists take to the stage and compete to out perform one another in re-creating some of Darwin’s more bizarre experiments – such as playing the bassoon to the worms…  to see how they react!

But then, in the darkened room of the scientists’ laboratory things begin to go awry…  the experiments backfire, the worm turns…  and a new creature evolves – a fairly feral youth of modern urban Britain takes the experiments, and themes, to a very different level…
