Inaugural Lecture Series: Professor Simon Rogers

Edge Hill University’s Inaugural Lecture Series for Spring 2008 features the university’s most recently appointed professors giving their opening address to an audience of colleagues, students and partners in the local community.

Simon Rogers is a Maxillofacial Surgeon Consultant at the University Hospital Aintree, specialising in oral and oropharyngeal cancer and microvascular free tissue reconstruction. He is also founder member of the Evidence based Practice Research Centre in Edge Hill University’s Faculty of Health.

With an interest in quality of life following oral cancer, he has published widely on this topic and spoken at conferences worldwide. In 2002, he was awarded a Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England for research into the relationship between function and quality of life following surgery for oral and oropharyngeal cancer.
