Pop Art
Meet Lisa (of Mona Lisa fame). She’s been stuck in a frame for 500 years, but now she’s questioning why she’s here. She journeys from portrait to portrait on an epic quest through the history of art, as she tries to find the ultimate prize: herself. Along the way, she meets famous (and not-so-famous) faces from art history, each of whom share their story in a banger of a pop song, and Lisa learns that the history of art is the history of humans learning to love differences. Though Western art began with the macho men of Michelangelo and the perfect women of Da Vinci, it has come to champion the radical visions of Frida Kahlo, the mental health struggles of Van Gogh, the queerness of Andy Warhol Pop Art is art as you’ve never seen – or heard – it before.
Free event, booking essential.
