Professor Cynthia S. Hamilton

Professor Hamilton is Professor Emerita of American Literature and Cultural History and international advisor at Liverpool Hope University and her research concerns the politics of agency (particularly in relation to race and gender) within popular literatures. She was formerly head of English at Liverpool Hope University. In 2015 she published a monograph entitled Sara Paretsky: Detective fiction as trauma literature, with Manchester University Press. She currently holds an AHRC International Networking Grant, “Articulating Women: Interrogation Intersectionality and Empowering Women Through Critical Engagements”, for which she is Principal Investigator, January 2018-January 2020.
