PhD Research Student / Graduate Teaching Assistant
Department of English, History & Creative Writing
I’m a PhD candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant here in the English, History & Creative Writing department.
I write innovative semantic and visual poetry and short fiction. My verse has been published by Blackbox Manifold, M58, Pages, Ikleftiko and Three and a half point 9 magazines. My fiction has been published in Degree magazine. I also won the MA category of the Edge Hill Short Story Prize in 2016 with my short story Glass.
My research interests include the poetry of conflict, particularly the military conflict in Afghanistan, as well as the conflicts associated with integrating multiple approaches to poetic production. My doctoral research speculates on possible methods of elucidating the experience of warfare in poetry produced with both Concrete and Semantic techniques.
I am founding editor of Card Alpha magazine, an online e-zine for new experimental poetry, both visual and textual, and artworks.
