Support with your course

Here’s an idea of which members of staff will be a key part of your course:

Course Leader. This person is the individual who will be responsible for the entire course that you are applying for.

Year Lead. Each cohort has an allocated person to lead that year.

Lecturers. These are the individuals who will be teaching you your course content during each semester and they will be on hand to answer any queries about course content.

Personal Tutor. You’ll be allocated a Personal Tutor who has a dual role to support you both academically and pastorally and you will often have regular meetings with them.

Supporting you to learn a language

If you’d like to study a language as a supplement to your degree, you can join Evening Language Courses, our extracurricular evening language classes.

If you’re an Edge Hill student and English is not your first language, you can attend the In-sessional English Language Support Classes in the Language Centre. The In-sessional English Language Support Classes focus on academic reading, writing, speaking  and listening skills. All classes are free on a sign-up basis and are open to all International or EU students. For more information, please visit the department’s webpage.

If you’d like any more information about the Language Centre or you have any questions, please contact Lucy McNally:

Keeping the campus beautiful

Facilities Management (also known as FM) employ a huge number of support staff across the University. Whilst the roles of all FM staff are varied, maintenance is a big part of what they do. You may see members of the FM team doing housekeeping, maintaining the site and grounds or responding to a repair job in your halls of residence.

Keeping you safe

Providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment remains one of our main priorities. Our Campus Support Team are available 24/7 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of our students, staff and visitors during their time here.

Campus Support ensure the campus is secure, manage traffic and parking and monitor CCTV and security systems. They are also there to respond to any emergencies, including first aid requests. This all helps you to feel comfortable and safe when you’re on campus.
