Biography

I am a qualified teacher with a specialism of working with children with SEND. I have taught in primary schools in Nottingham and Warrington as an Early Years and Key Stage 1 teacher. I held the position of Key Stage 1 leader in each of these schools. I then moved to work as a Specialist Inclusion Teacher for Lancashire Education Authority. I specialised in working with children and young people on the Autism Spectrum and completed my MA at MMU alongside this job role. I moved to Edge Hill University in 2015. I work as a Senior Lecturer in the Early Years Education department and am also Inclusion Lead. I am currently undertaking a Research PhD at MMU focussing on child voice in relation to children on the autism spectrum.

Research Interests

I am interested in research around children’s rights and children with SEND. I am also interested in creative teaching methods.
