Biography

  • 1980-2003 Paediatric Occupational Therapist (specialising in Dyspraxia from 1994)
  • 2004-2012 Primary and Early Years teacher
  • 2012 to present EHU lecturer Primary English

  • BA Education and Literacy
  • PGCE (Primary)
  • PG Cert in Teaching and learning in Higher Education
  • Working towards MA Children’s Literature

Research

  • Engaging children with reading for enjoyment through book clubs/reading groups in school
  • Using picture books to develop children’s understanding of refugees
  • Working with Teresa Cremin (UKLA/OU) on Teachers as Readers: Building Communities of Readers. Phase 2.
