Biography:

Denise is currently the Enterprise, Partnership Training lead for the Early Years Education Department at the Faculty of Education.

She has worked for Edge Hill University since 2007 in a number of different roles, including Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) Co-ordinator, Early Years Programme Leader, Outreach Centre Manager, Assistant Director of School Leadership Programmes, Acting Director of the Leadership Academy.

She has taught across a number of programmes from Level 4 to Level 7, including Foundation Degree Early Years and BA Hons Early Years Leadership. She has supervised students on the MA Education programme and the NCTL National Professional Qualifications in Headship (NPQH), Senior Leadership (NPQSL) and Middle Leadership (NPQML). She has also led the Early Years Development Programme (EYLDP).

Qualifications:

Denise completed her BA (Hons) Early Years Education at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2003. She gained her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning Support (PGCHETLS) in 2011 and went on to complete a Master of Arts (MA) Education with distinction in 2014 at Edge Hill University.

Denise achieved the status of Fellow of The Higher Education Academy in 2012.

History:

Prior to working at Edge Hill University, Denise worked for a Local Authority in Early Years and Childcare. She was responsible for continuing professional development and quality assurance across Early Years and the wider children’s workforce. Denise also has ten years’ experience of leading and managing an early years setting.

Interests:

Denise has gained significant experience of working in partnership with a diverse range of schools and settings. She is passionate about working collaboratively to develop deep and meaningful partnerships. She is lead for the Early Years Partnership CPD training and looks forward to working with the new Early Years Education Advisory Group.

Achievements:

Denise was involved in a successful project with an international school in Hong Kong to deliver leadership programmes to senior and middle leaders.
