Edge Hill University’s highly regarded Faculty of Education have announced that they have extended their free online CPD programme into the 2021-2022 academic year for all schools and teachers.
Originally launched to support schools during the pandemic, the portfolio of sessions has been expanded and diversified as a result of the very positive feedback from the hundreds who took during the Spring and Summer terms this year.
Building on Edge Hill’s national reputation for high-quality teacher training the free sessions will continue to support schools in tackling the mammoth challenges currently facing teachers as they work to support their pupils following a long period of change, upheaval and lost learning.
Associate Dean of Education Dr Helen O’Keeffe explained: “Looking after the needs of our partnership colleagues in schools and other settings are at the heart of what we do in the Faculty of Education. It’s about playing our part to keep teachers informed and up to date on the latest research and teaching practice being developed at Edge Hill.
“Being able to use the expertise that we have to help support teachers in continuing to offer the very best they can for their pupils and presenting this in a way that recognises the existing workload of the profession.”
The sessions will cover a wide range of subjects including the early years, behaviour and wellbeing, curriculum, early career teacher sessions, evidence-based practice. The full list of courses is on the Edge Hill CPD store.
Participating teachers can also request additional sessions which may then be added to the programme in the future.
Edge Hill’s Faculty of Education has also set up the ‘Links to Learning’, an online hub for any teachers and parents looking for study resources. Whether it’s resources to support a lesson plan or something fun to keep the children entertained at home, there’s plenty of support available on the Links to Learning page.
Edge Hill University runs a number of courses in education and teacher training. Visit the website edgehill.ac.uk/education for more information on all the education courses available.
