About the business

Nitecrest Ltd have over 25 years experience in the plastic card industry manufacturing cards for gift, loyalty and banking in the UK and exporting to over 140 countries worldwide.

A dedicated gift card, loyalty and membership specialist synonymous with the fastest lead-times and highest service levels in the industry.

Nitecrest have a wealth of paper board card and plastic card printing and manufacturing experience, producing over 5 million cards, on site, on-a-daily-basis, offering a turnkey solution delivered directly to consumer, bulk to stores or via distribution centres.

Operating a 120,000 sq. ft. Visa and MasterCard secure facility in Leyland, Nitecrest hold the ISO 27001 security stamp and are proud winners of The Queen’s Award for International Trade. There are approximately 100 employees with a variety of skills base.

Building leadership and management capabilities

Paulina Proc has worked at Nitecrest for 9 years, 4 of which have been in the accounts department. Her employment began in production of the plastic cards. Paulina has progressed to the role of Account Clerk and is responsible for sales ledger and credit control. Currently, Paulina does not have any staff responsibility but has management experience from a previous role.

After recently completing an AAT Level 4 and with an eagerness to learn, Paulina jumped at the opportunity to study the CMI Level 4 in Management & Leadership when it was offered to all employees via the HR department.

The pandemic has impacted on so many businesses and employees across the region. Paulina believes that there has never been a better time to make herself resilient through continued professional development to strengthening her own skills and knowledge.

The fully-funded, online programme provided Paulina with a formal introduction into leadership and management and she described the content as fantastic, highly informative and beneficial to developing her knowledge.

Paulina prefers online learning to classroom delivery, with no additional travel required and flexibility of self-study time to access the recorded lectures, works well around her busy work and home commitments.

The live lectures are well planned, and Paulina has learned a lot through interacting with the other employees from across Lancashire, who hold a wide-range of job roles from a variety of sectors. They have shared experiences and exchanged information and ideas around challenges and scenarios.

Outcome and impact

English is Paulina’s second language and the course has helped her to build her vocabulary and confidence within a working environment.

Paulina’s personal drive to engage in quality learning and development is ignited by her ambition to eventually progress career further and combine her accountancy, management skills into project management. She is currently studying a CIMA qualification, we wish her luck in achieving her goals.
