When will I find out about the High Achievers Scholarship?

 September starters: 

  • All students who meet the criteria will receive notification by late November. Letters will be sent to term time addresses, therefore please check your mailbox and with the Durning Centre if you are resident on University Campus.
  • If you have not received notification by the end of November and feel you should have done, please contact our Scholarships Officer on [email protected].

April starters:

  • All students who meet the criteria will receive notification by late May. Letters will be sent to term time addresses, therefore please check your mailbox and with the Durning Centre if you are resident on University Campus.
  • If you have not received notification by the end of May and feel you should have done, please contact our Scholarships Officer on [email protected].

When will the High Achievers Scholarship be paid?

September starters:

  • Payment will be £500 the last Wednesday in February and £500 the last Wednesday in June.

April starters:

  • Payment will be £500 the last Wednesday in October and £500 the last Wednesday in February.

Payments are made directly into your bank account via the Student Loans Company, providing you have funding with them. Alternatively, the University will issue a cheque. Should your payment be issued by cheque, the Scholarships Officer will contact you (via your University email address) to advise this is ready to be collected.

Why haven’t I received my High Achievers Scholarship payment?

  • The High Achievers Scholarship is only paid once we have received a signed copy of the Terms and Conditions and only to registered students.
  • The Award is paid via the Student Loans Company, where possible. Otherwise, the Scholarships Officer will email you to let you know when you may collect a cheque payment.
  • If you have interrupted your studies the High Achievers will be suspend until you return to study.

I have changed by bank account, how do I let you know for my Scholarship payment?

  • Our Excellence Scholarships, Sports Scholarships and University Scholarships will open early in 2019 and close mid 2019. Once they are open for application they will be promoted across campus. Further information about the Scholarships can be found on https://www.edgehill.ac.uk/scholarships/.
  • The High Achievers Scholarship is automatically assessed and you will be notified if you meet the eligibility criteria.

When do the Scholarships open for application?

  • Scholarships are paid via the Student Loans Company, where possible. Please ensure they hold the correct account details for you. Student Finance England may be contacted on 0300 1000 607.

Am I eligible for a Scholarship?

Can I have more than one Scholarship?

  • If you meet the eligibility criteria for a High Achiever’s Scholarship you may also apply for an Excellence Scholarship.

When are the Excellence Scholarships paid?

  • If you are in your first year of receiving an Excellence Scholarship, you will receive £500 at the Scholarships Awards Evening (usually in November) followed by a further £500 on the last Wednesday in February.
  • For subsequent years, payment of £500 will be made on the last Wednesday in February.
  • Payments are made directly into your bank account via the Student Loans Company providing you have funding with them. Alternatively, the University will issue a cheque, the Scholarships Officer will contact you (via your University email address) once this is ready to be collected
  • If you are a Sports Scholar it will depend on what level you have been awarded and what year recipient you are – the Scholarships Officer will be able to confirm this.

Can my Scholarship be paid earlier?

  • The dates for the High Achievers payment are fixed, these cannot be amended.
  • If you want an early payment for your Excellence or Sports Scholarship, please to email the Scholarships Officer on [email protected], explaining why you are requesting an early payment and with supporting evidence. The University will consider all genuine requests.

Do I have to reapply for a Scholarship each year to receive payment if I am already a Scholar?

  • If you have a Sports or Excellence Scholarship, you do not have to reapply however, the Scholarships Officer will send out an annual Scholarship Review form for you to complete and return in order for your Scholarship to be continued
