Paula Keaveney’s Political Week

Paula Keaveney is senior lecturer in politics at Edge Hill. Having served time as a local councillor with Liverpool City Council, she continues to be a keen observer of local, regional, national and international politics, and is a regular contributor to the UK’s political conversation. She understands what happens in the corridors of power, and here she trains an unblinkingly critical eye on the UK’s political scene.

The latest edition of Paula Keaveney’s Political Week goes down under to find out what’s eating – or perhaps what’s being eaten by – erstwhile Health Secretary Matt Hancock as he enters his final days as a contestant on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! Paula then widens the scope to look at standards in politics. Is it time for the role of MP to have a job description? Is that even possible?
