English plus courses

These English plus courses are available to closed groups of students. They improve student’s English language skills and their ability to speak fluently and accurately. Students will improve all four skills taught in the context of the subject. As well as improving your English, these courses also enhance your knowledge in your chosen specialist field such as Business, Computer Science or Education. We can consider a range of possible subjects working in partnership with other Edge Hill University faculty academics for our English Plus courses and welcome enquiries.

We will ask about English language levels before students join the course (see Entry Requirements) but we will also provide a short assessment at the start of the course to check your current level.

Students will have a series of assessments throughout the course to measure their progress. Students will receive a report which can be sent to or collected. Students will also receive a certificate of attendance on completion.

This course also aims to introduce students to life in the UK, our customs and traditions. Students will have classes that focus on different aspects of British culture. More details on the English Plus Business course can be found online.

This course is only open to groups of students. We are unable to accept applications from individual students.
