Can I use Edge Hill sports facilities?
While Lancashire has been placed in Tier 3, local leaders have decided to allow gyms to remain open.
Our Sports Centre has robust measures in place to ensure a socially distanced workout environment.
We have introduced a booking system to ensure the number of people using the facilities at any one time is controlled and we have redefined our cleaning regimes and safety standards. You’ll also notice your workout areas will look a little different, but you’ll still get everything you need for a great workout. Please watch our reopening video to see the measures that we have put in place.
The swimming pool has also re-opened and we will open other facilities in phases. Do keep an eye out on the website for more details and timetables.
What is happening about events on campus given the Government restrictions in place?
Given the Government’s latest guidance is still discouraging large-scale gatherings, we have postponed all big events and the Arts Centre programme.
Some departments are hosting virtual events and you can check the website or the University’s social media feeds for details about any upcoming online offerings.
Please be assured that we are very keen to organise external events when it is safe to do so and will keep you informed of these plans and our offering over the coming weeks.
When with the Arts Centre reopen?
Given the Government’s latest guidance is discouraging large-scale gatherings, we have postponed the Arts Centre programme.
The Arts Centre is looking at bringing more events online, do keep an eye on the website and social media for more detials.
We look forward to seeing you at our events when it is safe to do so.
Can I use the outdoor spaces on campus?
We recognise that our combination of beautifully landscaped grounds, historic architecture, lakes and even a beach provides a unique and innovative place for our community to make use of.
Members of the public are welcome to use our outdoor spaces, but must respect the latest restrictions and that Lancashire has been placed in Tier 3. Please adhere to social distancing guidance and any signage on campus about health, wellbeing and use of facilities as well as the ‘rule of 6’ for using outdoor spaces.
Please be aware that we don’t allow dogs on campus so do respect our rules.
I’m an external partner/supplier and would like to meet with a member of the University, what should I do?
While we have returned to campus and are offering a blended learning approach, we are still encouraging University staff members to meet virtually with visitors and external partners or conduct meetings in outdoor spaces on campus if essential. The person you are wanting to meet will be able to give you more details about this when making arrangements with you.
