Bio

Quanbin Sun is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science (Software Engineering) at Edge Hill University, UK. His main research interest lies in crowd behavioural modelling and simulation, and its applications in the built environment.

Before joining the Department, he was a senior IT developer at the University of Manchester, where he worked in several multi-million projects to develop bespoke systems for Higher Education and Health Care.

Prior to that, he completed a PhD in individual behavioural modelling and crowd simulation at the University of Salford. He proposed a configurable crowd model with a generic behaviour effect representation mechanism which was well received by leading journals in its subject (e.g. Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Impact Factor: 5.288). He also led the software development for a research project (EPSRC) and an industrial project (KTP) and was recognised as a sponsored developer of Software Sustainability Institute in 2012.
