Coming to the UK has opened my eyes to numerous opportunities that I would not normally have had access to and removed many of the barriers that prevented me from making the best of the ones that I did know about before.”
“I didn’t exactly choose to come to Edge Hill, as I was one of 2009 the winners of the British Council Innovation 360 Scholarship competition and was placed here because it was the best choice for the course I wanted to do. I’ve been really happy here though and could not have made a better choice. I have made very many friends from lots of different countries and got to know lots of exchange students from America, India and Korea.
I’ve had loads of support from the staff at Edge Hill and my tutors have been amazing. It’s really encouraging the way they are so interested in your academic progress and are always ready to help you in any way they can. I’ve even had some tutors respond to my school-related emails at weekends, which is great.
Everything in the UK is so different. The weather is certainly so, and it was such a shock coming from such a warm climate to arrive here right in the middle of the worst of the cold weather. One thing I really do like is the fact that things actually work over here and, although stuff can seem comparatively expensive at times, nine times out of ten you can make plans and see them through because all you need is readily available.
Coming to the UK has opened my eyes to numerous opportunities that I would not normally have had access to and removed many of the barriers that prevented me from making the best of the ones that I did know about before. I would definitely recommend this university to anyone coming to the UK with the intent of seriously pursuing a good education.
Once I graduate I hope to be able to either start my own business or get a job where I can put all the skills I have acquired on my course to good use.”
