The Global Game Jam® (GGJ) is the world’s largest game creation event taking place around the world in over 90 countries. Its a 48 hour event, where teams of our students work together to create digital and non-digital (card, board or physical) games and feed them back into the community of 7000+ ‘Jammers’ worldwide. It’s a collaborative, creative event, where people from different disciplines and interests within gaming are encouraged to come together and share their skills and knowledge. The event take places on the 20th – 22nd January.
The GGJ creates a global creative buzz in the games industry and lets people explore the process of games development, be it programming, iterative design, narrative exploration, mechanics or artistic expression. All this is condensed into a 48 hour event! The GGJ encourages people with all kinds of backgrounds to participate and contribute to this global spread of game development and creativity.
The event is free to take part and is open to all students of Edge Hill University, regardless of your previous experience or skill level in creating games! The event will look great on your CV to an employer and builds your skills in team work, creative problem solving, innovation and communication.
