Industrial placements / internships

Work Experience allows students to build, develop and apply skills acquired through their degree. Evidence shows that undertaking a sandwich placement can lead to students improving their academic skills, obtaining a high classification of degree and improving prospects on graduation.

During your degree, you will develop both intellectually and personally, gain confidence and acquire the skills that employers are looking for. In addition, we encourage all students to actively gain work experience whilst studying at Edge Hill University. You can gain valuable assets to your CV by undertaking:

  • 12 month Industrial Placement (in your 3rd year)
  • Easter/Summer Placements
  • Internships
  • Voluntary Work Experience

The Computer Science Department has strong links with industry and advertise a variety of placement opportunities with a range of prestigious companies around the world. Students have secured opportunities to undertake placements with Google, Microsoft, Bentley, Barclays, BBC, Network Rail, General Electric and local North West organisations The Walton Centre, Nova and Nuttersons.

In addition, all students of the Computer Science Department have access to our award-winning Careers Centre. From the moment you start your degree, you have access to a highly dedicated and passionate team who can provide friendly, impartial and confidential guidance.
